I’ve been on a huge strawberry kick lately and I just got my Hexennacht sample of Strawberry Fields Forever. I like Hexennacht and have a few other samples from them. They do not sell samples on the site, but do so through Ajevie. Sometimes the samples are available permanently, and some are only available for pre-order for the month. I believe this one was a preorder for the month and not permanently on the site. I think it took me a few months to remember to get it. 

Notes for Strawberry Fields Forever: strawberries, fresh cut grass, dirt.

I have heard that this perfume leans more towards grass and dirt which I like because I wanted a perfume similar to Sorce’s Where the Wild Things Grow Version 2. 

Upon sniffing the bottle, I get a delicious and tart strawberry gummy candy. As soon as I applied it, I got the same candy smell. On the dry down, I got a lot of really fresh cut grass and fresh air fighting with the strawberry. It is a very nice dewy grass smell! Unfortunately, it did not take long for the grass and strawberry to fade, and I got an incensy and smoky smell and maybe dirt smell at the end too and this was all that remained for the rest of its time on my wrist. I guess this might be their base. A lot of my other samples from Hex are smoky and incensy because I do like those kinds of smells haha. I did still get occasional whiffs of the strawberry from what I applied on my neck but I didn’t smell it on my wrist at the time so I don’t know if that was from what was on my collar maybe. After a few hours, all I got was a smoky dirt or plastic note which is a bit of a bummer. I like this house but I did not like this perfume. They have an amazing incense (Cathedral) and marshmallow (Dreamweaver, All Souls’ Night) and herby lavender (Dreamweaver) but this did not do it for me.
