During the first month of Pierrot’s closing sale, August, I sprung for a bottle of an unreleased scent since that intrigued me and I didn’t really like the fig sample I got (sample from Sucrerie, which are all EDP, not oil) that I thought I would full-size. I was excited by the idea of something new and never before tried! I like woodsy type smells so this was up my alley. This is a 5 ml rollerball of oil perfume with a plastic ball.

How fitting that I am trying this in September! The notes and name of the perfume seemed so whimsical and fairy like to me. When I gave this a whiff on the roller, it smelled kinda like gingerbread to me, thankfully this wasn’t the case on my skin. This is a very sophisticated, dry type of scent. I get the honey and woody notes first. I realized at this moment that I actually don’t like honey. It was the first listed note and I should’ve paid better attention but I thought it would meld in better. It isn’t too much honey and it does really go with the woody notes, though. The honey is not at all sweet or overly animalic. The vibe is a realistic atmospheric that has a bit of a stink from the honey. I don’t think I got any camphorous or herby notes from the clary sage. I do get a bitterness that might be the anthill. It reminds me a lot of the stone note in Gargoyle from Nui Cobalt, actually. People do like that stone note but to me, it smells a bit cumin-like or a tang of something bad. This is very faint to me but still present. The scent was mostly linear for the first couple hours of my day. Later on, I smelled closer to see if any notes emerge as the base and I get a faint floral musk (from the tuberose I assume) and a comforting base that I associate with Pierrot. It gives me a solemn and sophisticated vibe, it’s heavy but musky. I don’t have enough Pierrot scents to be sure that it is their base or know if they use a similar base for each perfume, but I know they have very complex and well blended scents and this perfume is no exception.
