I just received my Ajevie decant for Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab’s Strawberry Moon 2026 (along with Hexennacht’s Strawberry Fields Forever which I review here!) I am in a very strawberry mood and I think Spring and Summer are the perfect seasons to wear strawberry scented perfume! I got a slonk from Ajevie with comes in an amber colored dram bottle that you twist open so I can’t see what color the perfume oil is but I imagine it is probably a bit golden in color. I do prefer the screw top to the dabber tubes because those can get difficult to open, especially if I have a few I want to smell first.

BPAL does very nice incense scents and while I didn’t expect this one to be, I would put it in this category. 

Here is the description from the site: A sinister harvest, a bowl of freshly picked berries left as an offering beneath unsettling lime-tinged moonbeams, their juice staining pale hands red: crushed wild strawberries, night-blooming datura, goblin’s gold moss, dried berry incense, sticky honey, and a slow bleed of blackcurrant sap over cold white musk.

I think the lime tinged moonbeams part might be specifically describing to the imagery on the bottle for the scent and then they go to describe the actual notes for the perfume. 

When I put this on, I got the juiciest strawberries I’ve ever smelled. I also got a bit of syrupy sweet fruitiness that I feel like reminded me of lychee a bit. I don’t get any green that I might get from other strawberry scents, just the actual deep red of ripe strawberries and smells of real juicy fruits in general. I don’t think I know what Datura smells like and I also didn’t get any moss from this. After the strawberry note has faded, I get a super expensive smelling incense. This is when I went to look at the notes to see if there’s incense in here because I ordered so long ago, I couldn’t remember. The notes call this a berry incense and I am definitely getting that. To me, it smells like quality incense that actually smells like the scents you got it for, and also like nag champa. This isn’t a smoky or a church or a cheap incense smell. I think some people automatically write scents off when they hear there is incense in it but probably have bad experiences with these types of scents in the past. If you’re going to voyage into incense scents, BPAL is a great place to try from. I don’t think this really lasted as long on me as other BPAL scents have but even 2 hours later, I get a more vague incense that is still there. Overall, this is a nice scent but I really wish that incredible juicy strawberry lasted longer on me. I might try it on my clothes too at some point to see if it sticks around longer (that usually helps.) I am wondering if maybe strawberry scents just don’t last long the way citrus also doesn’t last long or if it’s just not popular in perfumes so perfumers blend less of it in there.
